The Adverb-to-Adverb Derivation Suffix چە

رەۋىشتىن رەۋىش ياسايدىغان «چە» ئارقا قوشۇمچىسى

When added to certain adverbs of time, the suffix چە can make additional adverbs that carry the meaning of "for the duration of that time". In many cases, this is analogous to the English "for" (e.g., "for now", "for today").

now + [time restriction] = for now
ھازىر + چە = ھازىرچە

today + [time restriction] = for today
بۈگۈن + چە = بۈگۈنچە

Sometimes, the "for" analogy may fail, although the restrictive meaning of the suffix is maintained.

later + [time restriction] = in a little bit
كېيىن + چە = كېيىنچە

Finally, there are special cases when the word that چە is attached to is not a proper adverb of time.

temporarily, for the time being

The standard vowel-reduction rules apply when adding this suffix - i.e., if the word ends in an ئا or ئە vowel, this reduces to an ئى (provided that it is not a long vowel).
